Matt
wins the award for "Oustanding Score" at
the One Reel Film Festival!
Matt's
haunting orchestral score beautifully supports Terra's
varied emotional landscape. The film's first moments
of wonder and curiosity are defined musically by a
flute which slowly builds into a thunderous choir.
As the main character, Mala, is pursued, layers of
string instruments enhance her sense of jeopardy.
Soon after, a segue into a simple piano melody underscores
the solitude Mala feels during her lonely quest to
find the truth. The film's climactic reveal is punctuated
by a relentless air-raid sounding french horn playing
over a gothic pipe organ.
Terra's musical score is instrumental
(pardon the pun) to the film's almost immediate
success in the festival circuit. A closer look at
the film's sound work can be seen in the short documentary
"Terra:
The Audio Sessions."
